The Street Memorial Project is honoring MFA alum Hoyt Jacobs, who as you all know left us far too soon, as part of their north Queens Bike Ride on Sunday, April 19th. This decade old project commemorates pedestrians and cyclists killed in traffic accidents–in this case, by the placement of a ghost bike at the site of Hoyt’s terrible accident.

The memorial bike tour will arrive at the intersection of Vernon Boulevard & 41st Avenue at approximately 2:45PM and will stay for around 15 minutes, which will include a moment of silence and a bike lift.

QC’s own Nicole Cooley will be on hand to read a poem of Hoyt’s. If you’d like to come say a few words, or even just to observe, we’d love to see you there too.
