The Queens College MFA in Creative Writing and Translation is proud to be partnering with Cave Canem to bring you a reading from the legendary Cornelius Eady (recipient of an NEA Fellowship in Literature, a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship in Poetry, a Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship to Bellagio, Italy, and The Prairie Schooner Strousse Award).

This not-to-be-missed reading will be followed by Q&A facilitated by MFA student Jasper Lo, and a reception and book signing in the lobby of the Godwin Ternbach Museum.

Bio:

Poet, playwright, and songwriter Cornelius Eady was born in Rochester, NY in 1954, and is the author of Brutal Imagination, and—most recently—Hardheaded Weather (Putnam, 2008). His latest chapbook/CD, Singing While Black, recorded with members of his band, Rough Magic, was released by Kattywompus Press in 2015. He is a co-founder of the Cave Canem Workshop and Foundation and is currently the Miller Family Endowed Chair in Literature and Writing and Professor in English and Theater at the University of Missouri–Columbia.
