Research & Teaching Interests

How do we, as members of intersectional communities, come together to talk about our shared and varied identities?

To help answer this, I invite students in my undergraduate writing courses to consider the different ways language, learning and culture shapes the way we perceive ourselves and our writing. In my creative writing and creative nonfiction courses, I invite students to challenge the boundaries and binaries placed on writing and ourselves, and defy those norms through candid expression.
