The Spring 2022 English Department Graduation Ceremony is open to all Spring and Summer ’22 graduating students.

When: Thursday June 2, approximately 12:15pm

Where: the Goldstein Theater, on campus

What to expect: our ceremony will take place after the College ceremony on the Main Green, which begins at 9am. All graduating students, from all departments and divisions, are welcome to attend the Main ceremony, followed by their departmental ceremony (or you can attend just one of these, or neither, if you prefer). Our department ceremony will have faculty and student speakers, readings, and students will cross the stage to be presented with a college certificate of completion. Professional photography will be provided by Island Photography. Academic regalia is not required but is strongly recommended.

Registration required: If you wish to attend the English Department ceremony, you must register using this form. Access to the event will be restricted, and only students who have responded by Friday May 30 will be admitted.

Guests: Students may bring a maximum of two guests, and their access to campus will be require a bracelet, to be distributed by the College prior to the event. Information about how you may collect these bracelets for your guests will be sent out in the coming weeks.

Covid restrictions apply: All graduates must be in compliance with the current CUNY vaccination mandate. To gain access to campus on the day, you will need to bring your current QCard. All attendees and their guests will need to provide proof of vaccination. Individuals displaying any symptoms associated with COVID-19 will not be permitted to attend the event or enter the space for the event.

The English Department Ceremony has been designed to be as safe as possible. However, there remain risks associated with all in-person activities during the COVID-19 pandemic. For the health and safety of all in attendance, we strongly encourage the wearing of face masks. Unfortunately, we will not be able to hold a reception afterwards, but bottled water will be available.

All participants and attendees, regardless of role, are subject to the rules outlined above.
