Any Donation Helps This #GivingTuesday
Working with the outstanding students at Queens College continues to be the greatest reward for the faculty and staff of the English Department, but our students face many challenges, financial and otherwise. Donations help us to keep providing the high quality of education that these students so richly deserve, at the undergraduate MA, and MFA levels.
Donor support allows us to award scholarships to our students, provide honoraria for visiting poets, writers, and scholars, fund student writing prizes, and subsidize student tickets to attend plays and other artistic events. Your most generous gift is especially helpful as we undertake an expansion of support for paid student internships for students in the department. Such internships provide crucial opportunities for our students to test possible vocations connected to their study in the department.
GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. Since its inception in 2012, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. We’re spreading the word to make this a #CUNYTuesday!
Like GivingTuesday, #CUNYTUESDAY is on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 (the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving) and helps support the thousands and thousands of students throughout our 25 colleges spread across New York City’s five boroughs. As a public institution in New York City, we are the primary establishment where people young and old turn to improve their lives through the dream of education. But, because we are a public institution, we don’t have the vast amounts of wealth that many of this city’s private institutions do. We provide the same high quality of learning and opportunity as our Ivy League counterparts, with a fraction of the resources.
We can’t keep up this good work without your help.
Won’t you visit this link and make a small donation? Every little bit can help!
